Expansion and Improvement
of the
CHAM
DRILL
Familly
ISCAR has expanded the upper diameter range of the
CHAMDRILL
family to 22-25.9 mm.
The new
CHAMDRILL
drill bodies were designed and produced using the latest technology for twisting the coolant nozzles. They were designed in length to diameter ratios of 3xD and 5xD. Bodies are available only in whole sizes. Each drill body can carry a drilling head in a range of 1 millimeter, in 0.1 mm increments.
The twisted nozzles which are now inside the drill flutes, enable increasing the gullets, resulting in improved chip evacuation.
The drill shanks are designed according to DIN 9266 standard.
The new CHAMDRILL bodies have frontal coolant ports which correspond to the ducts in the new CHAMDRILL heads, directing the coolant to the cutting zone.
The new CHAMDRILL heads have two coolant ducts on their periphery and are made of IC08 submicron substrate and are TiAlN PVD coated.
Advantages:
• Each drill body can carry a drilling head in a range of 1 millimeter, in 0.1 mm increments.
• Helical coolant nozzles and wide gullets provide:
- Long cutting edge life.
- Excellent chip evacuation and surface finish.
• There are two holes in a slot located in the rear side of the drill for connecting to coolant passages in stationary adapters.
• Can be used for blind, as well as through hole, applications.
• No setup time is needed after new head indexing.
• There is a new inspection torque key for checking if pocket gripping force still is in effect.
