  ISCAR’s New Deep Hole Drilling System  
  A new modular system of brazed and indexable threaded drilling heads with single or double tube shank types, expands the application range of gundrills.
Using this new system is much more productive than using a standard gundrill and should be considered the first choice for deep drilling.
The deep hole drilling system features a cooling fluid. In the case of a single tube (STS) it is introduced through the gap between the drill and the hole, conveying the chips through the tube. With the double tube system (DTS), the cooling fluid is introduced between the tubes and conveys the chips through the inner tube.
It is recommended to use this new system for applications where the drilling depth to diameter ratio is more than 10.
The diameter range is 8 – 250 mm (.315” – 10”) and the possible depth ratio is up to 300 times the diameter.
