ISCAR has also prepared some UPGRADED surprises for hole making applications (pic.9). The CHAMDRILL and CHAMDRILLJET concept now includes more flutes and positive cutting edges for high metal evacuation rate, as well as for large hole diameters.
The emphasis of these drills is toward the hole tolerances, in terms of improved hole roundness and cylindricity. Also, as an integral part of the UPGRADE campaign, ISCAR is planning to launch two other new systems, including a modular deburring system and a high speed reaming system, named BAYO T-REAM (pic.10 & 11).
Concerning multifunction tools, several new products are scheduled to be launched at the end of this year. One of them, for instance, is a whole new range of exchangeable heads for Turn-Mill machines. Another innovative tool, within the multifunction category, performs turning, drilling, milling and threading, all on a Turn-Mill machine. This tool is particularly useful for both roughing and finishing machining, of either external or internal operations. Another example for this niche of products is the DR-MF tool (pic.12) that performs longitudinal turning, facing and drilling applications, by using only one tool engaged in a CNC lathe machine.
Lastly, watch out for the new UPGRADED milling tools that guarantee endless economical benefits by providing more cutting edges per insert, such as the HELIOCTOFEED (pic.13 & 14). New insert sizes and dimensions, large cutting edge radii, and fine pitch configurations on serrated cutting edge inserts, for extra strength, will also be available. As a part of the UPGRADE campaign, new endmill head shapes will be released for the MULTI-MASTER tool (pic.15 & 16), as well as new types of plungers with more serrated cutting edges for chip splitting and reduction of cutting forces. New innovative solid carbide endmills, such as the FINISHRED (pic.17), will also be included in the UPGRADE campaign. This family features one single tool that performs roughing and finishing operations at one pass. The advantage of milling slots, 90° shoulders or cavities using rough machining conditions, while obtaining outstanding surface finish results is invaluable on the shop floor.
The anticipation for more exciting innovative products should not stop here, as ISCAR has several other machining solutions in hand. Early predictions indicate that UPGRADED tools (pic.18) will inspire and revolutionize the way industry practices machining.
