FINISHRED - Revolutionary Solid Carbide Endmills
ISCAR is introducing the EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. FINISHRED – a revolutionary solid carbide endmill family.
The FINISHRED endmill is a combination of both roughing and finishing endmills in a single tool.
Roughing endmills remove material from workpieces more rapidly and efficiently than conventional endmills. However, roughing endmills leave grooves on the machined surface. Consequently, after using a roughing endmill, a finishing endmill has to be used in order to obtain a smooth surface finish. This means time-consuming tool change, setup time and necessity of maintaining two endmill types in the stock.
Features:
• The EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. endmills feature 4 flutes with
45º helix, two serrated flutes and two continuous flutes.
• The cutting edges of the finishing flutes are radially further from the   tool axis than the cutting edges of the serrated flutes. The finishing   flutes remove the grooves caused by the roughing flutes, leaving a   smooth surface finish.
• The tool is fully effective and enables running at rough machining   parameters, resulting in finish surface quality.
• The unique tool design reduces vibration at high load applications.
• The tool produces short and long chips simultaneously. This chip   mixture is evacuated more easily than each individual chip type – an   excellent solution in slotting and cavity milling applications.
• The FINISHRED is available also with the MULTI-MASTER indexable   milling head option which combines the FINISHRED features with the   advantage of "No Setup" time, no regrinding costs and the wide range   of shank and extension options available for the MULTI-MASTER   milling heads.
• A single tool replaces the roughing and finishing endmills; therefore   reduced stock.
• One tool change and setup time can be eliminated.
• Extra tool position is gained on the machine.
ISCAR offers very attractive introductory kits: KIT FINISHRED which contain 4 endmills in the diameter range of 6 to 12 mm.
Following are test reports demonstrating the advantage gained by using the FINISHRED endmills.
