New Chip Splitting Solid Carbide Endmills for High Metal Removal Rates
ISCAR is introducing the ECP-3/4L family of chip splitting endmills. The new endmills are available with three and four 38° flutes in grade IC900.
They feature 2xD and long shanks with reduced neck diameter, which enable machining along high shoulders, at high feeds. These endmills, due to their chip splitting feature and force distribution can be used very effectively on low power machines (CAT40/BT40/ISO40).
The serrated cutting edge features flat peaks which leave a better surface finish, in comparison to the current rougher endmills.
The ECP endmills are most recommended for machining austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, at up to 2xD depth of cut. They can be used on alloyed steel as well.
All of the preliminary tests conducted at various customers’ locations showed excellent results.
