BALLPLUS
BALLPLUS Multifunction Milling System
ISCAR is introducing a new ball nose family. This new family is called BALLPLUS due to improved clamping mechanism and more application options.
BALLPLUS, similar to the MULTI-MASTER family, is a multifunction system comprised of cylindrical and conical shank options and 5 various milling inserts. Each shank has the ability to carry different milling inserts. Clamping and indexing of the milling heads is very simple. It can be done while the tool remains clamped on the machine - therefore no setup time is necessary after indexing.
A unique pocket design enables very firm insert clamping and edge position accuracy, with no insert pullout problems. The V- shaped insert is positioned against 2 contact surfaces for high accuracy.
Tightening the screw pulls the insert backwards into the V-shaped slot, which guarantees firm clamping even under high machining forces.
BALLPLUS cutters may be used for feeds and large depths of cut. Due to the high quality of the ground insert’s cutting edge, finishing results in excellent surface quality. By using BALLPLUS, polishing and other finishing operations may be substantially reduced.
All of the BALLPLUS inserts have two cutting edges (fully effective) with a ground chipformer for high feed and low cutting forces. The inserts are available in grade IC908 which can be used for all application and material options.
